Messy Housewife was birthed early on in this blog when I was trying to put a comical spin on my housekeeping challenges. The number of marital fights that have centered around the home are more numerous than I can count. Shame has haunted me when it has come to my home. Here we are nearly 10 years later and I am still housewife challenged.
Ironically, growing up I love the 1950s and there is this part of me that wants to be, June Cleaver, the pearl wearing put together wife and mother.
We are constantly bombarded with images and lessons on how to have it all together in our home. Messaging of, “if you really wanted it you would just make it happen” has crushed me more times than I can count. Reality is my home is a continual work in progress. There are ebbs and flows to me having things together as I continue to grow in my abilities.
My desire with “Messy Housewife” is to bring some humor and hope in knowing you may not be so alone.
What you will likely see in any of my “Messy Housewife” posts are snippets of things that have been beneficial for me. Ways that I make dinner less of a big deal. How I keep 5 growing boys fed. Cleaning hacks that I have absolutely loved. Products that have revolutionized my homemaking domain.
And that image above will be an anomaly. I will take pictures but rarely will they be staged or will my hair be so lovely. Odds are pictures will often look more like this…
